Adult content

AdSense network is considered safe for families, which means that publishers are not permitted to place Google ads on sites that contain pornography, adult, or mature. If your site contains content that is not comfortable viewing at work or with family members, the site was probably not an appropriate site to place Google ads. Please note that we also do not allow the search box or AFS AFS AO to put adult content on the page.


Content is cornering a person, group, or organization

Google believes strongly in freedom of expression, but also have the right to exercise discretion and protect AdWords advertisers.

Google ads are not allowed to contain content that could be considered biased against individuals, groups, or organizations according to criteria such as race, religion, disability, gender, age, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or political affiliation. In addition, Google ads must not appear on the content created just to harass or disparage others, because such sites can be considered negative or offensive.

However, websites that contain historical academic or related to such topics are permitted to participate in AdSense.


Copyrighted material

Google ads may not appear on web sites with content protected by copyright laws, unless the site has adequate legal rights to publish or drive traffic to the content. Some examples of copyrighted content could include mp3 and video files, TV shows, software, comics, and literature.

Web sites that display the website in a frame or someone else they perceived as a window framing the site content. Google prohibits the placement of ads on those pages.


Content related to tobacco, alcohol, and drugs

AdSense program policies prohibit Google ads on sites that sell or promote drugs or paraphernalia. This equipment includes drugs, illegal drugs or prescription, and herbal drugs such as salvia and magic mushrooms. Advertising is not permitted on the pages that sell or promote beer, alcoholic beverages, or drinks with high alcohol content. In addition, advertisers are not permitted to place ads on sites that sell or promote tobacco and its related products, including cigarettes, cigars, pipe tobacco, and rolled paper.

Remember that the promotion of prohibited content includes providing links to sites that do not comply with our content policies related to drugs, alcohol, and tobacco.

However, advertisers are permitted to place ads on content information associated with the manufacture and filtering beer, as well as topics on how to quit smoking.



Gambling content

AdSense publishers are not permitted to place Google ads on sites that contain content or related to gambling or casinos. In other words, if your site receives money or allow users to place bets in exchange for opportunity to earn cash or other prizes, Google ads may not be posted on the site. Currently publishers the opportunity to choose to accept gambling ads by category filtering feature. Instructions for doing so can be found here.

Note that these ads will only appear to users in the region that allow gambling legally. Complete list of these locations can be found here.

If you do not want to accept gambling ads on your site, you need not take any action.



Hacking and cracking content

Placement of Google ads are not allowed on the site that promotes any form of hacking or cracking. Hacking and cracking content is content that gives the user instructions or equipment which may modify or provide illegal access to software, servers, and websites.


Sites which offer compensation programs (the site "pay for")

The term "pay for" refers to sites that promise payment or incentives to users who click ads, surf the web, read email, or perform other similar tasks. Place Google ads on this page may generate invalid clicks or impressions, and therefore prohibited. Similarly, sites which primarily drive traffic to or discuss the service "pay for" is not allowed to show ads.
 

Sites that use the features of Google Brand

The use of Google brand features such as logos, screenshots, or other unique feature without our written permission is not allowed. For more information about use of trademarks and brand features, see the Guidelines for the Use of Third Party Brand Features.


Violent content

Program policies do not permit Google ads placed on content that contains striking images of violence and bloodshed such as murder, the fight scenes, and a horrible accident. Publishers are responsible for each page that displays the ad code and filtering text, images, video, or other media that will appear on pages containing Google ads.
 
 
Content related to weapons

Google ads are not allowed to appear on sites that sell, facilitate or support the sale of weapons and accessories. This includes, but is not limited to, sales of ammunition, gun parts, hardware, pistols, rifles, BB guns, sporting rifles, air guns, blowgun, and stun guns. This policy also prohibits the placement of ads on sites that sell explosives, including fireworks.


Other illegal content

Publishers are not permitted to place ads on content related to making false legal documents, such as ID cards, passports, social security card, or false immigration documents. In addition, the ad must not appear on the site devoted to the sale or distribution of examination papers or other materials that promote fraudulent activities. To drive traffic to the site or provide clues about the making of counterfeit or imitation designer goods is not permitted in the AdSense program.

Google ads may not appear on sites that promote or permit any form of criminal activity.

Sexual acts of a minor, non-consensual, or illegal

Google AdSense strictly prohibits the monetization of content related to child pornography or pedophilia. Google has always been at the forefront in the fight against abuse of children online, and is an active supporter of the family online safety.

Under U.S. federal law, child pornography is defined as visual illustrations of children under age (ie under 18 years) who engaged in sexual acts such as intercourse, oral sex, or masturbation or genital erotic illustrations (covered or shown). This definition includes photos, videos, cartoons, drawings, paintings, and sculpture. Pictures can show a real child; images of computer engineering, morphing techniques, composite or altered image that resembles the look of a child (such as "Photoshop"). Included also lure children under the age in exchange for money to perform sexual acts, known also as "gentle persuasion".

Pedophilia is the content or behavior (images, text, video, etc..) That depict, encourage, or promote adult sexual attraction to minors (ie under 18 years).
